In fact, TRANSPORTER 3 is a much better movie than its competition, the newest Bond flick. He’s also a talented martial arts actor, which makes him more fun to watch than any of the recent fine actors who’ve been playing James Bond. Once again, Jason Statham plays the lead role with utmost flair. Complicating matters, Frank finds himself caring and falling for Valentina as they escape one adventure after another. He also secretly works by phone with his detective friend, Inspector Tarconi of Marseilles. By this time, the movie has revealed that Johnson’s plot involves tons of toxic waste off the Ukrainian coast and the blackmailing of an environmental minister.įrustrated, Frank tries to find the transmitter in his car linked to the explosive bands. As Frank follows Johnson’s instructions, he tries to question the girl, a Ukrainian named Valentina, but she refuses to answer. Both Frank and the girl have exploding bands on their wrists, set to explode if they get 75 feet away from Frank’s car. Johnson puts a water-proof case in Frank’s trunk and makes him take the girl who was with his friend. Frank agrees to transport whatever Johnson wants, but only if he can use his own car. The band on Frank’s wrist will explode if he leaves. Johnson, the man who tried to hire Frank in the first place, shows up and tells him that now he has no choice but to help him. Next thing Frank knows, he’s waking up in a strange room with a band around his own wrist. Frank calls an ambulance to take the friend away, but it explodes when it gets less than 100 feet from Frank’s house. A young girl is with the friend, and both have identical steel bands on their wrists. So, he sends a prospective client to a young friend instead.Ī couple days later, the seriously wounded friend crashes a car into Frank’s living room outside Marseilles, France. There are some things, however, that even he won’t do. In this second sequel, tough and mysterious Frank Martin, who transports things with no questions asked. Like the Bond movies, however, there are still some cautions for media-wise viewers, however. It has plenty of action and tells a much more compelling story. The good news is that the hero shows he has some morally redeeming qualities. The movie contains some foul language and brief sexual content, however, so caution is advised. Along the way, he has to contend with the people who forced him to take the job, some people from Ukraine sent to stop him, and the uncooperative Valentina.
